Usually these lovely little chatelaine purses are found with turquoise stones ... this is the only one I have ever seen with ruby colored jewels. Dating from Victorian times, this silver mesh purse with its ornate filigree frame features a butterfly with wings spread. Inside you will find an oval beveled mirror ... alas, it is beginning to show signs of its age, but wouldn't you at that age?? All in all, it is a great little purse from its chainlink handle to its tiny little silver ball fringe. Lower left front looks like it may have one ring of its mesh missing, but there is no hole, so I can't be sure. It may just be that a ring has become detached from one of its surrounding rings. Purse measures 3-1/4" wide x 5" long.
